What we did
Decoded captured digital signals with a logic analyzer to recover the data carried on an embedded device's bus, and analyzed industrial-control-protocol traffic to understand and manipulate device commands. This is the layer beneath the application — where the device, the wire, and the control protocol live.
- Interpreting logic-analyzer captures to recover bus data (serial and clocked protocols)
- Reading and reconstructing embedded/firmware artifacts
- Analyzing ICS/OT protocol traffic to understand device command and control
Why it matters to a client
If your product is an IoT device, an embedded component, or touches operational technology, the risk is not only in the web dashboard — it is on the device and the wire. Very few application testers can work at this layer; combining it with web/API testing means one assessor can follow a flaw from the cloud all the way to the hardware.
